The TD Vancouver Chinatown Festival is returning to the city for two days this August. Last year, this popular event attracted over 57,000 visitors.
There will be a day filled with activities and events that should appeal to everyone, no matter their ages. The festival is set to feature a day market, a walking tour, and food tasting, as well as multicultural performances and an informative Cultural Corner.
In addition, three special events are planned to coincide with the festival. One of these is the TD Youth Talent Showdown for those between the ages of 13 and 20. Those interested had to audition this month, and the finalists will be performing at the festival on the main stage. The top three finalists will receive cash prizes, a trophy, and gifts. Audience members will also vote on the People's Choice Award. The Young Star Challenge is basically the same, but is for children aged 5 to 12. The top three will receive a gift card and a trophy.
The final special event is Streetfest. It will feature an Anime fashion showdown, professional DJs, a performance by Bboys, games, and carnival foods.
To advertise this event, organizers may have invested in services from Vancouver companies, such as sign and flyer printing.
The Vancouver Chinatown Festival is taking place on August 9th to 10th on Columbia and Keefer Streets. Admission is free. Call 604-632-3808 for more information.
