Popup Weddings has already held some of its nuptials that cost $1,000 and last 20 minutes. More than a dozen couples chose this option, which the company describes as being flash mob style. The ceremonies took place in a variety of public places around the city. All the bride and groom had to do was get their license and the clothes they wished to wear, invite their friends, and the rest was taken care of for them, all the way from the decorations, to the officiant, to the person photographing the wedding.

The catch for some is that because the events are held back-to-back on the same day, the happy couple may not have the special day all to themselves, but with weddings in the city typically costing upwards of $10,000, many felt that the money they save is well worth it.
