The nation’s largest airline has made an announcement that will be of interest to anyone travelling to Beijing or Seoul for business or pleasure.
Air Canada revealed that it will be replacing its aging fleet of Boeing 767 aircraft with the more fuel-efficient and comfortable Boeing 787 Dreamliner airplanes. These offer more seating, with the breakdown being 210 economy seats, 21 in premium economy and 20 business class seats available. It is expected that the premium economy seats will be appreciated for those looking for an economical upgrade for the long-haul transpacific flights.
One of the new planes was on display during the announcement. Those on hand were told that the aircraft – which are made from high-tech, composite materials – are 20% more fuel efficient that the older type planes.
The airline purchased 37 of them, and the route from Toronto to Japan has already been converted.
The plan is to switch to the newer plane on the Beijing route in February, and the Seoul route in March. Other routes will be upgraded through the future months. Six Dreamliners will be in use by the end of 2014, with the remainder coming into service by the end of 2019.
An announcement like this can be very welcome to those who have to travel a lot for business, as they will have the opportunity to travel in more comfort. A poster printing company can create backdrops and other materials for use when the news is given to the public.
