Agricultural history of Vaughan explored at the Woodbridge Fair

Presented by the Woodbridge Agricultural Society and acting as a celebration of the "harvesting history" in the Vaughan area, the 165th Woodbridge Fair will take place at the Woodbridge Fairgrounds in a matter of weeks

The fair will bring in plenty of activities for the entire family at the Woodbridge Fair, including a family farm area, demolition derby, Great Pumpkin contest, midway, cow-milking contest, petting zoo, straw bale maze and horse show. There will be several buildings featuring demonstrations and exhibits, such as the vegetable building and the community building. There will also be a children's village, sheep-shearing demonstrations and the judging of giant vegetables. It promises to be a great way to introduce children to the world of agriculture in a fun way.

Printing companies in the Vaughan area will probably be helping the organizers prepare for this year's fair. They will be able to supply flyer printing, ribbon printing, and banner printing services. Flyers will no doubt be distributed throughout the community reminding people of the upcoming fair and making those new to the area aware of it. Banners, meanwhile, are often used in the build-up to events like this to highlight certain areas of the fair and to recognize those sponsors who have helped make the fair possible. Ribbons will be handed out at the various contests.

The three-day event will take place from October 6 - 8. Tickets are $7 for adults or $2 for those aged 6-14, with a family pass also available for $30 and good for all three days. For more information, call 905-265-1782.
