Vancouver workshop to introduce small space gardening

While many people would like to grow their own vegetables, not everyone has room for a garden, but an upcoming event will show that it is still possible to raise crops in a small space.

Container gardening on a balcony, terrace or even just a pot on a doorstep offers everyone a way to get growing, and this will be the focus of an online workshop created by Vancouver’s UBC Farm’s Centre for Sustainable Food Systems.

The session will cover a variety of topics, and plant selection and other tips are all on the agenda. Both vegetables and herbs will be included, and it will be beginner friendly. Choosing a container, soil preparation, irrigation, fertilizing and harvesting will all be addressed, and the presenter for the event will be a member of the farm’s staff.

This workshop is scheduled to take place using the Zoom platform, and the fee to register is $15. Flyer printing offers an economical way to promote an activity like this, and this service can be sourced from local printers.

The Veggie Gardening in Containers workshop, which will be of interest to those who want to learn more about small space growing, will be offered on March 25th. It will begin at 6:00pm, and the registration system is now open. Advanced registration is mandatory in order to participate.
