A walking workshop in Vancouver will soon introduce participants to some nighttime Flyers.
The Owl Prowl will introduce members of the public to the owls that call Stanley Park home, and the organizers are hoping the attendees will be able to meet a variety of species. The meet-up point for the activity will be Nature House, located at 712 Lost Lagoon Path, and it will take place during the evening hours.
The registrants will take to the woods at the venue, and once there, they will keep their eyes and ears open for Signs of owls. As these birds often fly silently, it will likely be their calls that will be heard. The facilitator will teach how to identify the hoots and other calls they may hear, and the walk will run for one and half hours. It is currently courtship season for larger species such as great horned and barred owls, and as well as the small northern saw-whet owls.
Birding and other nature-based activities give the public an opportunity to connect with the world around them. Those who enjoy these hobbies may use Journals and other printed materials that can be prepared by professional Stationery printers to record their findings.
This introduction to some of Stanley Park’s nighttime flyers will take to the park’s trails at 5:00 pm on February 25th. The event will run until 6:30 pm.
