In days gone by, many households made their own fresh bread, and a Vancouver workshop will soon give everyone the skills they need to make a tasty loaf.
The rustic breads that will be the focus of the class will include focaccia and other basic styles, and tickets to participate are $110 each. Refunds will be available up to 72 hours ahead of the activity, and it will be held during the evening hours.
The facilitator will walk the attendees through the steps of making and shaping their loaves, and simple, high-quality ingredients will be used. Everyone is asked to bring an apron, as well as a bowl they can use to knead the dough. A take-home container is also recommended, and the session will run for one and half hours. Tickets, available via Eventbrite, are going fast, and it is anticipated that spaces will fill up quickly.
A culinary class can be a fun way to learn some new cooking or baking techniques, and there are often options available for everyone from the beginner cook to the experienced home chef. Stationery printers can prepare cards printed with the recipes used to distribute so everyone can recreate it in their own kitchen.
Il Centro Vancouver’s Italian Cultural Centre will host The Art of Making Bread and Focaccia workshop on May 4th. The venue is located at 3075 Slocan Street.
