Vancouver workshop covers planned cesarean births

Vancouver mothers-to-be who have a cesarean scheduled are invited to be part of a workshop that is designed to help take some of the apprehension out of the experience.

Providence Healthcare has organized its In Person Cesarean Birth with Karen class for early July, and it's recommended that women who are interested take art between their 28th and 36th week. The fee covers both the pregnant woman and the support person, and this evening event will run for three hours.

During the session, the attendees will learn what to expect during a cesarean birth and also how to recognize the Signs of early labour and when they should seek help. The reasons why one may be scheduled will be discussed, and post-partum care will also be addressed. Everyone will find out how they can enhance this special time for a new family, and a tour of the St Paul’s Hospital maternity unit will take place.

Workshops often compress a lot of information into a relatively small amount of time. Organizers can order Copies of additional learning materials such as handouts, workbooks and promotional Pens from a professional printer.

Vancouver moms-to-be are welcome to add their name to the list of learners in the In Person Cesarean Birth with Karen class, which will begin at 6:00 pm on July 7th. Its web listing includes a ticketing link.
