Vancouver workshop to explore small-space growing

Those who live in an apartment, condo or other abode where they do not have much space for a garden may still be able to get growing, and an upcoming Vancouver event will point the way.

The False Creek Community Centre’s Granville Island Room will be the location for a class that will explore the many options out there when it comes to container gardening. Rhiannon Johnson will serve as the instructor for the Balcony, Container and Small Space Gardening session, and she will be offering solutions for the challenges that may go hand in hand with small-space growing.

The session will provide the attendees with tips for preparing their soil, as well as which organic fertilizers to use, and when and how they should be applied. Watering, basic irrigation types and which containers are best for particular plants are also on the agenda.

A Print shop can provide organizers of events like this one with small Promotional Products such as rain gauges, plant stakes, labels and cotton gardening gloves printed with a logo. These can be used as draw prizes, added to gift baskets or simply handed out to attendees.

False Creek Community Centre has scheduled its Balcony, Container and Small Space Gardening class for Saturday, February 3rd. It will kick off at 11:00 am. Advance registration is required to attend.
