An event in Vancouver will see some of its top shuckers showing off their skills in a fundraiser for the Bikers for Autism Society, which provides a variety of supports for the local autism society.
This will mark the 4th year for this competition, and it will be bringing together 25 men and women from all over North America who are considered to be some of the best when it comes to the art of oyster shucking. The top-seated competitors will move on to the Cherry Point World International Championships planned for this coming September.
Along with the oyster opening contest, there will be lots of other activities. There will be a seafood chowder competition and a Best Bike in Show prize to be awarded, and a silent auction and draws are also on the agenda. A feature cocktail station will be set up and there is an assortment of entertainment on tap as well.
Those who come to the celebration will be invited to browse through the branded items on sale at the Bikers for Autism booth. Other fundraising merchandise will be on offer as well, and a local printer can supply a full line of brandable customized Promotional Products for an event like this.
