Entomology is the study of insects, spiders and other related invertebrates, and one of these ‘creepy crawlies’ will be the focus of an upcoming workshop planned for Vancouver.
Entomologists often create insect and arachnid collections, which are pinned in a specific way so the subjects can be easily studied. The registrants in the Scorpion Pinning Class will learn these techniques, and when they head for home, they will be able to take their completed project home with them.
Pretty Dead Taxidermy will be running the class, and the group will be working with Asian forest scorpions. They will be walked through the process of pinning and mounting their specimens, and both beginners and experienced attendees are welcome. All of the materials they will need will be provided, and the scorpions will be displayed in a way that showcases their natural beauty and form. Tickets start at $129.13, and the scorpions will be sourced from licensed breeders.
