Mason bees can be helpful friends to have in a garden, and an upcoming learning session will make it easier for Vancouver gardeners to give them a warm welcome.
The West End Garden Club runs an assortment of events, and this month, it will be offering an introduction to the benefits of inviting mason bees into the home landscape. The session will be friendly to families, and it will be free to participate.
The attendees will be able to take in a presentation that explores this native species of bee and why it is important, and they will be invited to ask questions too. Everyone will receive a packet of fertilizer, as well as the chance to utilize the community's seed library. They can pick up some seeds for free or donate any they would like to swap, and everyone is welcome to bring a snack to share with the other participants.
Many communities have garden clubs or other groups that encourage home horticulture. Distributing learning materials can add even more value to an event like this one, and these can be prepared by area brochure printing companies.
The WE Garden Club: Mason Bees session will be offered to the public on Sunday, February 18th. It will begin at 1:00 pm at 870 Denman Street in Vancouver.
