When it comes to scary creatures, many people place spiders at the top of their list. A Vancouver area event may just change that, and its will be open to members of the Lynn Valley Naturekids Club as well as those who want to find out more about what the group has to offer.
An arachnid expert will be bringing along some of her eight-legged friends for the kids in the session to meet and get to see close up. While they are having fun, the group will be learning about spiders, scorpions, pseudoscorpions, and other members of the arachnid family.
Andi Fischer, who is a resident spider expert at Simon Fraser University, will be leading the session, and she will share details about spiders, how they live, what they eat and the role they play in the ecosystem. They will also discover what makes these tiny creatures so impressive and hopefully quelling the fears of any arachnophobes in a attendance.
While the event is intended for members of the Lynn Valley Naturekids club, it is also open to families who would like to find out what the organization is all about. Stationery printers can supply activity sheets and other materials that will give the participants in this type of activity a chance to learn even more.
The Lynn Canyon Ecology Centre will be offering this learning opportunity on January 19, 2020. It will begin at 1:00 pm.
