A not-for-profit Vancouver organization that works to address homelessness and poverty in the city’s Downtown East Side will soon be hosting its signature fundraiser, and it will see golfers get into the swing of things.
The First United Golf Tournament is set to take place at University Golf Club, and the goal is to raise at least $175,000. This will be the tourney’s 17th year, and early bird registrations will be accepted until April 1st. After this date, the ticket price will increase.
The golfers will open their day at the course with a light lunch, and it will then be time to head to their powered cart so the game can begin. The green fees, as well as a sleeve of balls, will be included, and once the play has drawn to a close, it will be time to take to the clubhouse for a banquet-style dinner and awards. A live auction is also on the agenda.
To help ensure the function reaches its goals, the organizers are seeking sponsors from the local corporate community. Interested companies that would like to make a monetary donation or contribute gifts in kind have been asked to contact the organizers to discuss the opportunities on offer.
