Vancouver classes to combine horticulture with handmade art

Vancouver green thumbs are welcome to add their name to the list of attendees for a workshop that will combine horticulture with hands-on pottery making.

The Pottery Studio at the west end Community Centre will be teaching the fundamentals of ceramics with a two part workshop for adults. It will provide an introduction to utilizing hand building techniques, and the instructor for the sessions will be Lisa Warren.

The activity will craft trellises, Signs and garden stakes, and they can be used to decorate an assortment of indoor plantings. During the first session, the participants will be taught how to hand build an assortment of ceramic garden decorations, and they can be customized with whatever text they desire. The second class will see the pieces decorated and glazed, and all of the materials needed will be provided. No previous experience is needed to enjoy the workshops.

A class or workshop can be a fun way to learn something new in a social setting. Registration Forms, handouts, liability waivers and other materials that help to take care of the “business” side of an activity can be prepared by a brochure printing company.

This class series that combines horticulture with handcrafted ceramics will begin on February 16th. The second class will take place on March 1st at 870 Denman Street.
