For the 9th year, the Steveston Merchants Association is presenting Christmas in Steveston Village. It will be a family-friendly event that will have something to appeal to everyone in the family. The VIP guest, Santa Claus, will be arriving by boat and he will hear what the children want for Christmas while posing for photographs.
The event will also feature the lighting of the Christmas tree, carol singers, stilt walkers, jugglers, musical entertainment, and horse-drawn carriage rides. A donation of around $5 is recommended for the carriage rides, with all proceeds going to the Richmond Christmas Fund. A gift shop will also be set up in the Gulf of Georgia Cannery so those who have not finished their Christmas shopping can pick up an appropriate present for a friend or family member.
In past years, local businesses have competed to win the Best Decorated Business award and have offered special sales during the event. Steveston stores who plan to compete for this year’s award might consider arranging for banner printing services from Richmond printing companies. A colorful banner featuring a holiday scene will help to make any store more festive. A store might also design and Print a flyer to distribute throughout the city, perhaps offering a special sale price if the customer brings it back to the store.
