Ship to Shore Steveston 2011

Several tall ships will be arriving in Richmond, BC to take part in Ship to Shore Steveston 2011 from June 3 to June 7.

The 4 ships are replicas of tall sailing ships. The ships visiting will be the Lady Washington, the Hawaiian Chieftain, the Adventuress and the Zodiac. They will dock just off Garry Point Park in Steveston.

While most of the event will be free of charge, tickets will be necessary to take part in certain activities such as taking a 3-hour sail on each of the tall ships. On June 4 there will be a recreation of a gun battle at sea; visitors can purchase tickets to sail on the ships during the battle. Sailing tours will be offered on each of the 4 tall ships on June 5. In addition, when they are docked at the park all the ships are open to the public to board at no charge.

In addition to the tall ships, Ship to Shore Steveston 2011 also features movies in the park, food concession stands, a community stage and a farmers and artisans market. The movies Peter Pan and Goonies will be shown respectively on June 3 and June 4 at 9:30pm, dependent on the weather.
