Richmond visitor centres show the way

There are 5 Visitors Centres in Richmond, BC that exist to provide useful travel and community information. The visitors’ centres sell bus tickets, make hotel reservations and provide information on various events and attractions such as the Britannia Shipyard National Historic Site, various wineries, and the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site. Britannia Shipyard National Historic Site

The Britannia Shipyard is a recreation of a 19th century shipyard community. It was made a national historic site in 1992. It features interactive displays, boat restoration, various historical exhibits, pirate-themed birthday parties, guided tours and the Maritime Festival. The shipyard is open from Tuesday to Sunday during the summer from 10-6. The shipyard also takes part in the yearly Canada Day Steveston Salmon Festival Parade.

Wineries

There are a number of world-class wineries in Richmond that offer tours and tastings. These wineries include the Isabella Wineries, Lulu Island Winery, Sip Wines and Sanduz Estate Wines.

Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site

The cannery was built in 1894 and has been preserved to show how it operated at that time. It offers interactive exhibits, guided tours and an introductory film. It is located in the village of Steveston.
