Richmond’s Doors Open program gives the public a sneak peek into the inner workings of their city, and it will be making its return this year.
The activity, which tends to generate a lot of interest, will be celebrating its 15th year, and it will provide the chance for the public to get an insider’s view of buildings they would ordinarily not be able to tour. Both in-person and online attendance options are on offer, and at least 35 locations are on the list. The virtual content will be made available in advance of the scheduled dates for the in-person visits.
To help keep the function organized, advance registration is mandatory for many of the indoor sites. The function is a production of the Richmond Museum, and last year, over 13,500 viewed the online content. There will be five new additions to the roster for 2022, and places of worship, businesses, government and civic buildings and cultural venues have all signed on.
Many communities choose to organize Doors Open-style events to help build civic engagement and pride. A brochure printing company will be able to craft pamphlets and other materials that may be helpful in marketing such a function.
Richmond’s Doors Open program will be on offer on June 4th and 5th. The online materials will be made available starting on June 2nd.
