Families are set to enjoy a fun-packed event when Richmond Celebrates Hockey Day comes around next month.
The celebration is presented by the City of Richmond and the Richmond Olympic Oval. This year, the special guest at Hockey Day will be hockey legend Guy Lafleur. There will be lots of free fun activities, including skill tests, all types of games including ice, ball and street hockey, hockey memorabilia displays, skill clinics and several hockey games to watch.
The Vancouver Canucks house band will also be at the event and there will be lots of giveaways. There will be two special hockey games: the Richmond Sockeyes vs. the Aldergrove Kodiaks; and a game between Vancouver Canucks Alumni and the Sockeyes. Tickets for the Canucks/Sockeyes game are $15 per piece and the game begins at 4:00pm.
There will also be a hockey marketplace of more than 40 vendors who will be selling collectibles, memorabilia and other hockey-related merchandise. No doubt many of these vendors will be looking to Richmond printing companies to help them prepare. Investing in banner printing will allow the vendor to make their booth more visible to passers-by and might translate to more sales.
Richmond Celebrates Hockey Day will take place at the Richmond Olympic Oval on February 9 from 10:00pm - 7:00pm. Admission is free but a portion of the day’s memorabilia proceeds will go to Richmond KidSport and visitors are encouraged to donate non-perishable food items for the Richmond Food Bank.
