Richmond Maritime Festival seeking participants

The 2016 Richmond Maritime Festival is on the way, and applications are being accepted from those who would like to be a part of the fun.

The celebration takes place each August, and attracts thousand to the city’s Steveston’s Waterfront and Britannia Shipyards every year. The two-day event brings together music, storytelling, food and fun in an atmosphere that is welcoming to all, no matter what their age.

There are a variety of ways that those in the business, not-for-profit and private sectors can participate. Food and artisan vendors, community groups, performers and people who would like to volunteer their skills to the event are welcome to apply. Packages containing Presentation Folders filled with Brochures and other information can be put together and distributed to those who express an interest in taking part in large events such as this.

Applications for the different categories of participation are available on the event’s website. Those who are interested in volunteering are asked to sign up to take part in one of the information sessions that will be held on July 14th or July 15th, as well as a training session held on July 28th or 29th. All volunteers must be 15 years or older.

The Richmond Maritime Festival will take place at the Britannia Shipyards in Richmond on August 6th and 7th. More details can be found on its website.
