Siblings of a child with an autism spectrum disorder can sometimes face their own set of challenges, and a special day has been planned in Richmond that will celebrate the role the family can play in the life of a boy or girl with an ASD.
Richmond’s SilverCity Riverport Cinemas will be offering a special screening of ‘Incredibles 2’, and it will be free for families of an autistic child(ren). Those who attend will be treated to a VIP experience, and this will be followed by a reception at the Pacific Autism Family Network’s Hub.
The day will open at 9:45 am, when the doors will open for the movie. The reception is scheduled to begin at 12:30 pm after the screening is over. Free drinks and popcorn will be provided, and the film will be shown in a sensory friendly setting. During the second portion of the event, there will be carnival style games and a chance to win a variety of prizes in a raffle.
While the occasion is being offered free of charge, those who are interested are asked to RSVP well ahead of time. Branded kid-friendly swag of an event like this can be supplied by a printing services supplier in the area.
This day of activities will be held on June 30. More details can be found on its online listing.
