Richmond event honours the fallen

Each year, on the 11th hour of the 11th month, Canadians across the country pause what they are doing and remember those who served their country, and Richmond has organized a ceremony to mark the occasion.

The city’s Remembrance Day event recognizes the sacrifice made by the fallen as well as by those who serve today, and will take place on the east side of Richmond City Hall at the cenotaph. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

The gathering will open with a parade of Canadian veterans as well as members of the Canadian Forces and the Royal Canadian Legion. Cadets, first responders and other representatives of public safety agencies will also be in the procession. The official ceremony will begin afterwards, and after the two minutes of silence and the wreath laying ceremony, the function will draw to a close. The venue is accessible to anyone who requires a mobility device.

Remembrance Day ceremonies take place in communities all over Canada, and they remember and honour the fallen and also serve as a call for peace. Local Stationery printers will be proud to prepare programs and other materials for an event.

Richmond Remembrance Day 2025 will open with the parade scheduled for 10:20 am. More details for those who would like to attend can be found on its web listing, and it will be shown online for anyone who can’t attend in person.
