The Richmond community Winter Carnival will combine familiar traditions with new activities.
Aimed at encouraging outdoor participation and family engagement, residents can expect returning favourites such as a Saturday spaghetti dinner, Sunday pancake breakfast and a tram ride. The event introduces additional attractions designed to broaden the experience for visitors of all ages.
Organizers have planned for new photo opportunities, expanding the collection of themed polar bear, penguin and moose selfie frames. The installations are intended to create informal gathering points where families can pause, take photos and mark their visit to the carnival on social media.
Outdoor programming remains a central feature. For those unfamiliar with winter sports, the carnival will offer an introduction to snowshoeing, led by instructors from King Township (weather and snow conditions permitting). Several children’s activities are also free, including face painting and Barefoot Bushcraft.
Volunteers will be on site throughout the event, distributing complimentary popcorn and selling commemorative buttons marking the 57th annual Winter Carnival. Each numbered button includes an opportunity to win prizes, adding a participatory element to the event.
Banner printing can play a practical role in winter carnivals like this one, helping guide visitors, highlight activities and create a cohesive visual presence throughout the grounds.
The Richmond Hill Winter Carnival will take place at the Mill Pond Park, Richmond, on February 7 and 8, 2026.
