Knitting is a hobby that can be enjoyed by almost any age, and an introductory class in the Richmond area will teach the basics of this craft.
MakerLabs will be welcoming those who are new to knitting to a workshop focused on the fundamentals of knitting. All the supplies needed to get started are included in the registration fee, and its scheduled run time is two hours.
The participants in the event will learn the basic steps in beginning a knitting project, including how to make a slipknot. After this, they will be taught how to cast on, work the knot stitch and how to bind off. The organizer has noted that this will be a great way for new knitters to get started, and they will be able to meet others and have a fun time.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, measures have been put into place at the venue. Masks and hand washing are mandatory, and social distancing protocols will be followed.
Supplying each participant in this sort of introductory session with printed information sheets will help them to keep working on their project at home, and these can be obtained from local Print shops.
Vancouver’s MakerLabs will be offering its Introduction to Knitting class on January 27th. There are no prerequisites to take part. The activity is expected to fill up fast, and registration is now open.
