Richmond airport to host summer of Friday fun

YVR Airport in Richmond will once again be hosting its annual celebration of summer music, travel and fun.

From July 3rd to the end of August, the terminal will take some time each Friday to bring music and a variety of activities for young and old alike. There will be everything from face painting to costumed mascots, balloon artists and more. On selected days throughout the season, the Vancouver Canadians, Science World and the Vancouver Aquarium will host activities for the public.

The airport’s food vendors and other shops will also be joining in the festive air of the Fridays by offering free samples and reduced pricing on an assortment of their products. Those who have always had an interest in aviation will be able to enjoy different themed displays, videos and quizzes that will give them a sneak peek into the world of airports, as well as planes and other aircraft.

On July 17th, a special day will be held where the public can try out their skills at paper airplane making and get tips from the YVR Ambassadors. Twenty random paper craft will be selected to take part in a competition, with prizes given for the top three. A printing company can work with organizers of events such as this to design awards for the winners.

Those who are interested in learning more can visit the airport’s website for further details.
