You’ll want to be sure to mark the weekend of February 12 and 13 on your calendar. Richmond's annual Winterfest Weekend will be held on those two days this year, at the Richmond Olympic Oval. There is no charge to attend this spectacular weekend celebration that marks the very first anniversary of the 2010 Winter Olympics.
Attendees will have a chance to meet some of the 2010 Winter Olympians themselves. Alexa Loo, renowned Richmond 2010 Olympian is one of those special guests, along with Denny Morrison and Kristina Groves, each of which won medals at the 2010 Winter Olympics in speed skating. There will also be skating sessions for the public entitled Skate With A Champion with Morrison and Groves, which will be free of charge. Making it even more spectacular is the fact that these awesome skating opportunities will be held on the two Olympic-sized ice rinks.
There will be a book launch featuring John Furlong’s new book. This book is about Furlong’s experiences at the 2010 Winter Olympics.
You will also find various children’s activities and cultural displays. A special treat will be sports activities that are interactive, and there will be many other fun events and surprises.
Organisers of the event will be drumming up interest in by by using the services of flyer and poster printing companies in Richmond. Individual companies taking part in the Winterfest will no doubt be supporting local businesses by having their Banners and Business Cards run up by printing services local to Richmond.
