The Fall 2011 Perfect Wedding Show will take place on November 27 at the Executive Airport Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre in Richmond. Admission is $10 with 50% being donated to Dress for Success Vancouver; the doors will be open from 11 am-5 pm.
The show will feature exhibitors from companies that offer products and services to those planning to marry. This includes florists, wedding planners, travel agents, and chefs. There will be over $5,000 in giveaways as well as samples of gourmet appetizers and wedding cakes. In addition, brides and grooms can get free advice on planning their wedding. The latest in wedding gown designs will be on display and couples can find out about destination weddings.
Among those in attendance will most likely be a local Calgary printing company or two who provide wedding Invitations, place settings, thank you notes and decorations. The importance of the Invitations and the thank you notes cannot be underestimated. They become keepsakes for those who receive them and must be appealing.
The charity that half of the door receipts are being donated to is Dress for Success Vancouver. This is a charity which provides low and no-income women with professional business clothes so that they can find a job. Each woman receives a suit and a small professional wardrobe to help them make a good first impression on an interviewer. Once the women are hired they become part of the Professional Women’s Groups which is a networking group that meets monthly. With the difficulty many have in finding new jobs, a charity like this can give many women the boost that they need.
