No need to be lonesome with Elvis tribute

The Richmond Center for Disability's fundraising gala will take place in the Whistler Ballroom of the River Rock Casino Resort, with proceeds going to support the Richmond Center for Disability (RCD). This year’s goal is to raise $50,000.

The theme of the fundraiser is ‘Viva Las Vegas: a Tribute to Elvis Presley’. The main entertainment at the event will be Darren Lee, who was voted the #1 Elvis tribute artist in 1997. The evening will include a buffet dinner, which will include poultry, seafood, pastas, desserts, an open bar, a live band, and dancing. The evening should be a fun and entertaining way to help a worthy cause and to pay tribute to ‘The King’.

Local businesses and individuals are being asked to further support the event by purchasing tickets for RCD volunteers and members to repay them for their service. Sponsorships are also available from $1,000 to $5,000 and all sponsors are mentioned in all advertising, including a logo on the event poster. Richmond printing companies are probably providing poster printing services, and Posters will no doubt be distributed throughout the community to advertise this important fundraising event.

The RCD is an organization run by people with disabilities to provide programs to others with disabilities. It offers such programs as skills development, computer training, fitness programs, life skills, and literacy. This particular event is scheduled for October 20 from 6:30 pm - 10:30 pm. Tickets are $88 or $800 for a table of 10. For more information, please contact Eileen at 604-232-2404.
