The 12th annual ‘Volunteers are Stars’ gala dinner and awards has been moved to April in order to take place during National Volunteer Week.
The gala is a presentation of Volunteer Richmond Information Services and this year's theme is ‘A change of season’. The keynote speaker for the event will Rick Hansen. Guests will be treated to an open bar, dinner, and an awards presentation.
There will be eight awards handed out during the evening, including four Consellations Awards presented to two individuals and two groups to honor their services to the community. In addition, the Shooting Star Award is given to those aged 25 and under, the Nova Star Award is presented to volunteer organizations, the Shining Star Award recognizes business, and the Milan Ilich Award for Leadership goes to an individual who works in the non-profit sector.
Richmond printing companies will no doubt be helping the organizers advertise this upcoming annual gala by providing them with services like poster and flyer printing.
National Volunteer Week occurs in Canada from April 21 - 27 and is designed to honor all of those who dedicate their time to worthwhile organizations. To coincide with this, the volunteers’ dinner and awards will take place at the Red Rock Show Theatre on April 22 beginning at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $50 or $45 for members of Volunteer Richmond, and tables of 10 are available for $500 and $450. For more information, call 604-279-7020 or visit the Volunteer Richmond website.
