Learn wellness tips at the Summer WHAM

The fourth Summer WHAM (Wellness, Health, and More) will take place at the West Richmond Community Centre on August 2 from 12:45 pm - 4:00 pm. Admission is free.

The event, which is presented by Volunteer Richmond Information Services' Seniors Community Services, will feature 20 display tables from community organizations such as Impact B.C - Patient Voices Network and Service Canada. The keynote speaker at the event will be Anthony Kupferschmidt of the Alzheimer Society of BC, who will speak on how to keep your brain healthy as you age. Food will also be served and there will be prizes to be won.

It is more likely than not that the organizations planning to take part in the Summer WHAM will be working with Richmond printing companies to prepare for the event. They will require such services as brochure, flyer, and banner printing in order to inform the public about their organization and what it does. Those who attend this event will probably want to have something to take home so that they can digest exactly what they learned.

Our population is rapidly aging and everyone wants to live the healthiest life they can for as long as they can. Focusing on education might well be the key for people to live healthier and to hold onto their independence. Events such as Summer WHAM are important in that they bring seniors together with organizations that exist to serve them, which is particularly important to those who are unsure where to turn when they need help.
