The 2012 Tourism Richmond Service Awards Gala will take place at River Rock Casino Resort Show Theatre on May 15 beginning at 5:30 pm. Tickets are $15 and only those over age 18 are admitted.
There will be a reception which begins at 5:30 pm which will be followed by the awards presentations at 7 pm. There are 12 winners of the awards; one for each month of 2011. Those eligible must work in the tourism and/or hospitality community and were nominated by the general public. Winners can include individuals and companies in such fields as hotels, restaurants and casinos.
The first place most people turn to when they are deciding to visit Richmond is Tourism Richmond. They depend on the organization to provide honest and detailed information about the tourism and hospitality community in Richmond and surrounding areas. Tourism Richmond does this by providing a lot of literature for tourists which is provided by local brochure printers and is mailed out to interested parties for free; the literature can also be picked up at Tourism Richmond locations.
It is important that those in the tourism and hospitality community who go beyond the call of duty be recognized for their great service. It shows others that when they work in that field it is not just a job, they are helping the entire region by bringing in those tourist dollars and that people who receive excellent services will return to that area again and again.
