Celebrate Chinese New Year and celebrate the community

The 13th annual Richmond Chinese Community Society Community Dinner will take place at Continental Seafood Restaurant on February 8 beginning at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $42 for RCCS members and $58 for non-members; a multi-course Chinese meal is included in the price.

The event will also feature raffles and live entertainment; approximately 400 people are expected to attend. The dinner celebrates the various community groups and government officials who make Richmond the successful multi-cultural community that it is. Each group or association will be given the opportunity to introduce themselves to those in attendance.

There will most likely be the opportunity for those community groups to discuss their organizations with those in attendance on a one-to-one basis. With that in mind, those groups would be wise to have a brochure made up in advance that provides background and information on their organizations. Richmond brochure printers can provide any type of brochure needed for a reasonable price.

Canadians take pride in our multicultural society; not many countries successfully blend several ethnic and religious societies as well as we do in Canada. However, sometimes we become insular within our own society and do not see those on the outside. Events such as this annual dinner go a long way in fostering a culture of understanding; they also give us the opportunity to learn about these organizations and to get involved in their activities. The best way to build a satisfying life is to involve yourself in community organizations and activities.
