The 67th annual Steveston Salmon Festival will take place at the Steveston Community Centre on July 1 from 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM. Admission is free and there will be something for everyone in the family.
Canada Day will start with a pancake breakfast from 6:30 am - 11:30 am. This will be followed by a parade, beginning at 10:00 am, through the streets of Steveston from Garby Point Park to Railway Avenue. The Salmon Festival's opening ceremonies will take place after the parade at 12:00 pm. There will be lots of activities to view and take part in including a Japanese cultural show, martial arts demonstrations, a salmon barbecue, a trade show, a children's festival in Steveston Park, a food fair and a youth rock fest. There will also be carnival rides on June 30 and July 1. An unlimited pass for the festival costs $20.
The event will feature over 50 vendors, who will be selling almost everything including soaps, Postcards, jewelry, garden art, baked goods, and wood-crafts. Those taking part in the craft fair are chosen through lottery. Richmond printing companies can help vendors to prepare for the event by providing services such as sign and banner printing to draw attention to their booths.
Canada Day is a time for families to spend time together and it looks like the Steveston Salmon Festival will be the perfect way to celebrate the holiday.
