The fall edition of a North Vancouver small business market will switch to an online format, hoping to maintain its sense of community and opportunity for local artisans.
The Refresh Market has been running for almost a decade and focuses on locally-made clothing, home items and art. Markets often feature vintage items, local food, skincare items and more. Since being established in 2011, Refresh has attracted thousands of visitors and raised over $10,000 for local charities and non-profit organizations.
The spring market featured items such as jewelry from Blue Trimble Designs, baked goods from Ca Croustille, and plants by the simply-titled From the Garden Shed. A list of vendors for the virtual fall market will be announced in the weeks to come.
The virtual marketplace will involve promotions on Refresh’s website and social media page as well as a live video feed on Instagram. Each vendor will get a 30-minute session to advertise their ware. These sessions can take the form of workshops, studio or shop tours, or a mixture of different formats.
Refresh anticipates 4,000-6,000 viewers creating 35,000-50,000 impressions over the course of the weekend. Many local markets like this have been turning to virtual events this year, blending digital outreach with time-tested promotional tools like poster printing.
Refresh Market’s digital fall edition will be streaming online on September 26 and 27.
