New development in talks for North Vancouver

Another development may be coming to North Vancouver, boasting a hotel and residential property.

Chard Development envisions a 12-storey hotel comprising 169 rooms to be situated north of the Curling Road extension, complemented by parking facilities for over 100 vehicles. Additionally, a 30-storey residential rental building is proposed, boasting 423 units, with 384 designated as market rentals and 39 as below-market rentals – 18 of which would be operated by YWCA Metro Vancouver.

This possible development will take over the current site of two aging hotel operations, namely the Surestay by Best Western and Econo Lodge Inn and Suites.

As well as the proposed structures, the development encompasses various access enhancements. These include the extension of Curling Road across the site from Capilano Road to McGuire Avenue, widening Capilano Road to facilitate cycling and transit improvements, and the expansion of McGuire Avenue. Adequate parking would be provided for bicycles, along with space for 195 vehicles.

Forums will be held throughout the year to give out public information about the proposed development, so the North Vancouver community is kept informed about the potential development.

Members of the public can also learn more by contacting the city of North Vancouver about the development application, and give their feedback about the proposition.

Property developers may use brochure printing to get the word out about potential buildings.
