Savvy fruit growers know that using proper pruning practices can really pay off, and the participants in Langley workshop will be taught these techniques.
The hour-long Fruit Tree Pruning class will teach techniques that have been developed over many centuries of cultivation. It will be hands-on learning, and it is being offered free of charge.
The facilitator for the activity will provide tips for choosing how, when and where to make pruning cuts. The learners will find out how this can influence tree growth patterns as well as flower and fruit production, and why it's important for a tree’s overall health. It is geared towards the backyard “pomologist”, and everyone can get in some hands-on practice and ask any questions they have. The class is part of the Langley Demonstration Garden Workshops series, and advanced registration has been requested.
While a class or workshop may provide a lot of information, those who take apart may want to learn even more. Stationery printers can offer a variety of options for publications to hand out during an activity along with Notebooks, promotional Pens and other materials.
Langley backyard fruit growers who would like to find out how to get the most from their orchard are welcome to register for this learning opportunity, which will begin at 6:00 pm on July 14th. Derek Doubleday Arboretum will be the venue for the session.
