Langley workshop to welcome local soap makers
Soapmaking can be an enjoyable pastime, and a class will help those who already have some experience to take their skills to the next level.
The Intermediate Cold Process Soap Making class that is being presented to the public in Langley is aimed at those who feel they are ready to add some new techniques to their repertoire. There are enough slots for up to four students, and participants must have already completed Maker Cube’s D.I.Y. Cold Process Soap class.
During the two-hour workshop, the registrants will discover how they can build on what they already know. They will gain experience using a recipe calculator and creating their own formula, and they will discover how to choose the right oil for their particular project, and how to prepare designer-style soaps using two or three colours.
Students often appreciate receiving learning materials they can take home after an activity like this so they can continue to learn. A printing services company will be able to prepare manuals and other items using comb binding and other techniques.
Maker Cube will be hosting this session for soap makers on August 14th. More information about the activity, including the fees and required safety equipment, has been added to the host’s website. Everyone is asked to be on site no later than 15 minutes ahead of time, so they can get seated and prepared to start learning.
