Alberta celebrates seniors this June

This year’s Seniors’ Week is set to take place in Strathcona County next month. Communities all over the province have special events planned that will be aimed at – and will celebrate – those aged 55 and over. The theme of the week is ‘Seniors Rock!’

As in previous years, the county will be participating in recognizing this week with several events planned in the area. The main celebration will take place at the Strathcona County Community Centre. It is set to feature live music, refreshments, and information booths from local government and community organizations. At previous events there has been dancing or physical fitness activities, as well as displays of vehicles.

Events like this are often decorated with the help of products from Sherwood Park printing companies. For example, exhibitors may wish to draw more attention to themselves by hanging a large banner or poster over their tables. Alternatively, those who sponsored the event may be recognized on a sign posted in the venue.

While the week set aside to mark the occasion runs from 2nd-8th June, the Seniors’ Week celebration at the Strathcona County Community Centre will be held on June 5th from 9:30am - 11:30am. Tickets are $5 and attendance is limited to 300 guests. To find out more about this and other local events taking place during the week, call 780-464-4044.
