Sherwood Park is very proud of its community heroes, and those looking to join their ranks are invited to attend an upcoming information session.
Early February will see an event hosted at Fire Station 6 in Sherwood Park that will provide the inside scoop on choosing a career as a firefighter/paramedic with the city's Emergency Services. It will take place on a Saturday morning, and it's open to current paramedics or those who are accepted into, or are currently enrolled in, a PCP/ACP program.
The attendees will have the chance to learn about the hiring process, and they will be encouraged to ask any questions they have. There will also be stations set up on site where they will have the chance to try out different physical activities while wearing bunker gear, and everyone is reminded to bring along a pair of steel ted boots and wear workout gear. Leather work gloves are also required. An EMS station will also be on hand along with information booths, and a tour of the fire station will also be included.
An information session provides a way to share a lot of details in a relatively small amount of time. A brochure printing company can craft materials to distribute to the crowd.
Fire Station 6, which is located at 915 Bison Way, will offer this activity on February 7th. Admission will be free.
