The Strathcona Food Bank has issued a call to the public, seeking donations for a donation drive that it has organized in partnership with local law enforcement personnel.
The popular “Cram a Cruiser” food raiser will return to Sherwood Park this month, and a goal of filling the shelves at the food bank has been set. Everyone has been asked to be as generous as they can, and all help, large or small, will be appreciated.
The activity will be running at three of the community’s grocery stores, and a cruiser will be parked at each one. Last year's campaign was able to fill 18 cruisers with contributions, and the organizers are hoping to top that record this year. Donations of non-perishable food as well as cash will be welcome, and toiletries will also be appreciated.
Creative donation drives like this can be fun and effective ways to raise both contributions and community awareness of a cause. A banner printing company can craft weatherproof signage to use during these events to help get the word out.
The Strathcona County RCMP and the Strathcona County Enforcement Services will be joining forces to help ensure shelves at the Strathcona Food Bank are filled on October 16th. Contributions can be dropped off from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at 2020 Sherwood Drive, #100-410 Baseline Road or 60 Broadway Boulevard.
