Possible advertizing boost needed for Red Deer groups fundraiser
Organizers at the Enerflex MS walk are concerned that the number of walkers in this year’s event will fall short of expectations and believe it may benefit from a local advertizing boost in Central Alberta and Red Deer.
According to an Enerflex MS walk coordinator, reduced walk numbers for 2012 may impact the MS Society Foundation’s ability to offer services in the community, as funds collected from the walk will go towards supporting services for MS sufferers and their families.
The Red Deer area walk is scheduled for this Sunday, May 27 at Kiwanis Picnic Shelter, and begins with a registration and breakfast for walkers at 8:00 am sharp. 551 walkers turned up in 2011, raising $143,611. This year’s Alberta chapter has aimed for an ambitious target of at least 600 walkers. For 2012, walkers can participate in either a 2.7 or 8.5km route around the Central Alberta and Red Deer area. Entertainment and refreshments will be on hand.
Printed advertizing can help Enerflex MS Walk meet their participant target and encourage locals to participate the in walk. Local printers can provide wonderfully effective printing services for charitable organizations, while generating exposure and excitement for local events. Poster printing in public areas can alert local residents about the event. Flyer printing distributed in the mail can be particularly effective as well, especially in highlighting the importance of the MS Walk in providing vital services for sufferers in the community.
Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world, with three Canadians diagnosed with the disease every day.
