Edmonton residents are well known for taking pride in their community, and a program that has been set up will allow them to directly impact the quality of life in the city
Registration for the 2016 Adopt A Block Program has begun. This initiative encourages people to keep their local area looking great by keeping it litter free during the months of spring and summer, when many people try to spend more time outside. People can choose to adopt the area around their home or a nearby park, schoolyard or other public space.
Those who wish to take part will be given supplies to help them, and also be issued a hat they can wear to identify that they are volunteering through the Adopt a Block program. Promotional Products such as these can be printed with a logo that has been designed specifically for the initiative.
The city has prepared and provided a list of suggestions that the volunteers can use to participate safely, and this is available on its website.
Registration for the program will take place until May 1. Anyone who would like to get involved, or who would like to find out more about the different initiatives that the city has set up to keep itself looking as great as possible, is invited to visit the Edmonton Adopt a Block webpage.
