The U of A’s business school is back in the top 100 schools in the world and is currently listed at sixth place in Canada according to the 2013 edition of the Financial Times’ highly influential ranking.
Benchmarks include capacity to develop careers, diversity of offerings and research methods. These benchmarks are determined using results of extensive surveys completed by graduates of business programs at the Edmonton campus.
Survey results revealed that the university, in terms of research, was listed at 33rd and for the PhD in business faculty, the school is in 71st place. These rankings are out of 2,500 schools with business program around the world.
The interim dean of the U of A’s business school is unclear as to why the institution was dropped out of the top 100 in 2010. Joseph Doucet said:
“I’ve had discussion with folks at the Financial Times who do this ranking and I’d say there are more and more schools globally that are becoming better and better. It’s not that we dropped out in comparison to the same cohort of schools.”
Print companies are often situated on campus to aid students in completing assignments. Aligning with students would be a wise move for Print companies. Today’s students are the businesspeople of the future and universities are good places to plant seeds for future customers.
