Take the kids to the zoo

July 15 - 21 is National Zookeeper Week in Canada. To celebrate, the Edmonton Valley Zoo is holding a Summer Celebration on July 15 from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Admission to the zoo is $11.75 for adults, $10.60 for seniors and students, and $6.50 for children aged 2 – 12. A family pass is also available for $36.50.

The National Zookeeper Week Summer Celebration will give everyone the chance to meet the zookeepers and find out about what they really do. In addition, there will be Year of the Dragon crafts, Pin the Keys on the Zookeeper, and children can play in the Prairie Dog Tunnels. There will also be a Junior Zookeeper scavenger hunt, an enrichment parade, and everyone will have the chance to sign the giant thank you card.

No doubt Edmonton printing companies are helping the organizers of this fun event to prepare by offering services such as banner printing and poster printing.

The Edmonton Valley Zoo is currently undergoing a $50 million upgrade so that it can offer more to the community. The zoo already offers several programs for the general public, including day camps, adult programs such as Animal Photography, children's and family programs such as Creature Feature, school and group programs, and even birthday parties held on the grounds.

This event will show the whole family that feeding the animals is only one part of the wide range of jobs for which zookeepers are responsible, as well as how important keepers are to the running of a successful zoo.
