Special graduation ceremony held in Edmonton

Grade 12 students from Anzac may have had their final year of high school disrupted due to the wildfires that recently raged through the area, but that didn’t let that stop them from celebrating their graduation.

The nine teens donned their graduation gowns and caps and gathered at an Edmonton restaurant to mark this milestone in their lives. Ruth's Chris Steak House played host to the event, and as valedictorian Emily Czibere pointed out to her fellow classmates, while it may not have been the way she had always envisioned her graduation, it had turned out to be a fitting end to their final year together.

The event had been organized by the teens and their teachers through social media after the evacuation, and even though they had ended up in locations all over the province, they all wanted to get together one final time.

The eatery heard about their plans and donated the space for the celebration, and the Minister of Education gave each of the students their diplomas. Banners and other decorations for functions such as this can be designed and produced by a Print company, which can also create any other printed items that are needed to make it even more special for those who take part.

This was just the second graduating class for Bill Woodward School, which had only been open for five years.
