An American biopharmaceutical company has announced that it plans on investing a large sum to expand its presence in the Edmonton area.
Gilead Sciences plans on making an investment of $100 million by the year 2017, which will include a new processing tower and manufacturing building that will use state-of-the-art spray dry technology as part of its processing system.
The company currently employs 300 people in the city, and this expansion will provide employment for more than 170 more. A Stationery printing company will be able to meet all of the firm’s printing needs, from Business Cards to shipping and receiving Forms, signage, Letterheads, and much more.
Dr. Robin Nicol, who is the vice president of chemical operations and general manager of Gilead Sciences Alberta, remarked that this will provide an opportunity for the company to improve and expand its capacity to produce medications to treat a wide range of conditions, including cancer, heart disease, HIV, and liver disease.
Gilead recently opened the first of its two new buildings in the city. It covers an area of 45,000 square feet and is set to employ 83 people. The mayor was on hand to help celebrate the grand opening, and noted that it will help to ensure that Edmonton has a diverse economy that can withstand economic upheavals. It now houses the company’s largest operation in Canada.Get a Free Quote for Business Cards Get a Free Quote for Letterheads Get a Free Quote for Forms Get a Free Quote for Stationery
