Enjoy the Highlands Street Festival

The Highlands Street Festival will take place between 112 Avenue and 65 Street on June 3rd from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. This free family-friendly event is presented by the Highlands 112 Avenue Merchants.

There will be lots to do at the festival including horse and wagon rides every 20 minutes, historical displays, an outdoor market, local music, local arts and crafts, vendors, a children’s area, a Maori fire show, a fun run, a dog parade and a silent auction. The children’s area will feature several activities such as face painting, games and the Book Stop presented by the Edmonton Public Library. The silent auction will be raising funds for the Edmonton Bicycle Commuters and their programs. The dog parade cost $10 for each dog and proceeds will go towards the Humane Animal Rescue Team. The Highlands Centennial Community Art Project will also be unveiled during the festival. The fun run will begin at 2:00 pm; entrance fees are $10 for a 2.5 km run or $15 for a 5 km run. Proceeds from this will go to the rebuilding of the Highlands Community Centre.

Vendor’s tables can be rented for $40 and informational or showing tables cost $20. Organizations such as the Go Green Team, Master Naturalist Groups and the Highlands Historical Society will be providing information to the community on what they do and how others can help them. They will most likely be working with local Edmonton brochure printers so that they can provide Brochures, Booklets or Flyers to those who want more information about their organization.
