Edmonton residents who feel that they have what it takes to beat an icy obstacle course, while at the same time having fun and raising money for a not-for-profit that helps kids, are invited to take part in an upcoming challenge.
The Winter Warrior Challenge, which will be hosted by the Ranch Golf and Country Club, is a race with a course that covers five kilometres and contains 10 obstacles to challenge even the fittest. It is expected that more than 300 racers will be taking part, so there will be plenty of friendly competition on the day.
The registration fee for the race is $79 each, and includes a toque with the winter Warrior logo, as well as a medal for completing the course. Graphic design can be used to come up with logos for an event such as this. There will also be a cold beer waiting at the finish line and a banquet afterwards, where hot food will be served.
From each entry fee, a $15 donation will be made directly to the Rainbow Society of Alberta. The society works to make life a little bit better for children with serious chronic or life threatening illness by making their wishes come true.
The race is set to take place on March 12. More information is available on the 2016 Winter Warrior Challenge webpage.
