Edmonton Tourism launches winter campaign

Stationery printing in Edmonton may have been in greater demand this year when Edmonton Tourism began its winter tourism advertisement launch. All across the province of Alberta, households began receiving promotional literature since the middle of November, informing residents that even in the winter months, the Capital Region of the province would be ideal as a destination to take in both attractions and activities.

According to Ken Fiske, the vice president in charge of tourism and economic development at the Edmonton Economic Development Cooperation, the Edmonton area is a four season region. As such, its inhabitants like to take advantage of every one of the four seasons in the region.

The aim of Edmonton Tourism’s tactic is to enlarge the share of leisure visitors who come to Edmonton from other parts of Alberta. Edmonton Tourism’s advertising campaign consisted of social media, a tie-in website, Direct Mail (for the promotional literature), and even e-marketing.

The ad blitz is intended to be a two-phase campaign. The first phase got underway in the middle of November and is expected to last until the end of December. The second phase of the ad campaign that only gets underway in the New Year seeks to include neighboring provinces. This includes British Columbia, Saskatchewan and the Northwest as well as the Yukon Territories.

Stationery and poster printing in Edmonton may well be in demand into the early part of next year, thanks to this promotional campaign by Edmonton Tourism. Alberta residents are also eligible to win a shopping spree at the West Edmonton Mall, through another arm of this promotional campaign.
